So, according to law of Malus, intensity on passing through second nicol will be
$$I' = I{\cos ^2}	heta  = {{{I_0}} \over 2}{\cos ^2}60\Upsilon  = {{{I_0}} \over 2} 	imes {\left( {{1 \over 2}} ight)^2} = {{{I_0}} \over 8}$$
