For 300 cm, R = 100 $$\Omega $$
For 50 cm, $$R' = {{100} \over {300}} 	imes 50 = {{50} \over 3}\Omega $$

$$ \Rightarrow IR' = {6 \over R} 	imes R' = {6 \over {100}} 	imes {{50} \over 3} = 1\,volt.$$
